Save files will still be usable, but it's recommended that you make a new save when part 2 releases. Old saves will return the player to the end of day 2.

After the update 2.0, you'll be able to give poisoned mice to most cats, though I'm not sure if it applies to all of them. In any case, as far as I know, if you give one to Cedarstar, she'll banish you from the Clan.
In part 2 we'll be able to buy Poisoned Mice, but in the meantime you can use cheats to obtain them. (Press . then type 'holditem' and after that type ,Poisoned Mouse')

to get the exile ending, gift the poison to Cedarstar. In theory there must be more ways to get exiled, but I prefer the 100% completion when there is simply no more clan.

I was playing a tom, and I had a relationship meter of 50 with westfire, and she said that the cats couldn't be mates, so is the meter too low, or is Westfire into she-cats?
I was playing a Tom and I asked Westfire to date (WITH A ROSE), she said she couldn't, so is that just dialogue meaning too little hearts, or does that mean she's into She-cats?
Hi! I can't give you a definitive answer, but I'm part of IcyTea's discord server and have access to the alpha version of part 2. At the moment, you can't have kits with Quailtuft, and I doubt you'll be able to due to it not really working with the plot. However, (at the moment at least) the kits’ only inherit colours and markings from their parents.
Currently, you can't progress Quailtuft romance past the 'dating' stage that is already available in this version, and I highly doubt that will change. So you can't become his mate or have/adopt kits.
And yes, you can become mates with characters outside of CedarClan! There is Cinder (who you can only romance if you join Rouge's Domain) and Nico. I believe you can also date one of the prisoners of the domain, but I'm not sure if you're actually going to be able to become mates with him. :)
Hi! If you saved your game locally, your cache might have been reset. Unfortunately, if you don’t have a backup, you’ll have to create a new save. I recommend making text saves as a backup to store in your notes app in case your computer’s cache is reset.
On the save menu where the save files are, press 'Copy a text code'. Then copy & paste the code on to some kind of notes app. (And then when you want to load the save later, copy the code from wherever you put it and press 'Paste a text code' on the load menu, where you'll be able to paste the code in and continue playing).

Her getting a mate + two sons will actually occur later in the timeline! I don't think it'll be shown in this game due to the story's scope, however.

It will allow you to carry more items in the full game (I thiiink that isn’t implemented in this demo). It doubles your inventory space

It's all on the wiki, but here's a list of the currently present characters' genders.
Female - Cedarstar, Tansyblade, Echoflight, Westfire, Dawnwhisker, Flintsong, Honeyclaw, Pearkit, Willowkit, Kacey
Male - Hawkfeather, Drift, Lightningstrike, Wavefront, Stormfall, Quailtuft

She's only into she-cats
Shes only into she-cats,but you can date quailtuft,wavefront,flintsong and dawnwhisker as a tom
Or you can edit the save file from "tom" to "she-cat"

And then if you want to stay as a tom once you're dating her just change it back
