basically in the back of the camp, near the pond where a cat playing in the pond is, if you click on the waterfall as a kit you should be able to find a strange cat who you can talk to, to get a crystal! But I’d need to check again as it was been a while since I’ve played-

You have to give them a crystal, then talk to them again and they should ask to be your mate. You can buy the crystal from Jinxy for $200
Can't you just get a free crystal when you talk to the mysterious cat in the small cave as a kit?
